Loving yourself does NOT make you a narcissist - hating yourself DOES make you depressed

When real psychological conditions are applied to people without those conditions because of pop-culture-misappropriation, bad things happen. Case in point: the terms "narcissist," and "depressed." These terms are real, valid, and define actual psychological conditions. However, they are being blatantly misapplied at an alarming rate, and causing an increase in ACTUAL psychological conditions. I'm going to tell what these things are AND aren't, and what the misapplication is doing to our culture. My hope is this will help you see yourself in the right light and keep from that downward spiral of self-hatred, low self-esteem, and poor self-concept. Om Podcasten

There are people who understand depression and anxiety on a personal level and there are people who understand depression and anxiety on a medical level. There are relatively few people who understand both, and I’m one of them. As a clinical psychologist I have a doctorate degree and thousands of hours of professional experience providing treatment for mood and anxiety disorders. I also have 39 years of personal experience managing mood and anxiety disorders as I myself deal with these struggles. This podcast is my attempt to synthesize my personal knowledge with my professional knowledge. Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/scott-eilers/support
