Anna Little - Northern SUP Racing, Fanatic Team Rider, Cheerleading Others + Wetsuits at the School Gates

I am so thrilled to welcome Anna Little to The Joy of SUP Podcast today. I discovered Anna on Instagram and her energy  for SUP shone through.Anna is 47 years old, from Wylam, Northumberland. She used to be a PE teacher, but when she had her1st son 13 years ago, she gave up work and retrained as a biomechanics coach & personal trainer. She now runs her own business, enabling her to work around her 3 children. She has always loved sports and being active. However, it has only been during these last few years that she realised how well her body responds to training and how much fun, challenging and rewarding SUP Racing is. She set up and helps run Northern SUP Race team in Northumberland. She is also  a sponsored team rider for Fanatic. Anna feels that paddle boarding is free medicine to her. She loves training on the water and loves being with likeminded friends. She loves seeing other people achieve and learn to paddle and get better and better. She loves seeing the otters and the seals and many birds fly by. Anna’s says 'there is something special about gliding along on top of the water, a connection with the water that you feel & experience that always ignites a spark inside me.' We talk about:Anna's first SUP Bike Run competition where she was singing on the waterBeing a Team Rider for FanaticHaving an active family life + raising her sons to be active Pulling a tennis ball behind her board when trainingFounding the Northern SUP Race team and goals for membersHow you can get into SUP racing  How welcoming the SUP community isThe friendships which keep her going and the idea of 'we rise by lifting others'  - the motto of the podcast! Her training + biomechanics businessPaddling to Newcastle the first time she went on a board!Arriving at the school gates in her wetsuit!Anna also talks about Sarah Thornely - a Season 1 guestWebsite: www.annalittle.co.ukFacebook: Anna Little Exercise Specialist Instagram: Anna Little Fitness SUPFor Northern SUP Race TrainingFacebook: Northern SUP Race ClubInstagram: Northern SUP Race ClubFor GB SUP EventsGB SUP: https://gbsup.co.uk/I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I do! Om Podcasten

Sharing the joy of stand up paddleboarding. Join us for inspiring conversations with dream guests talking about all the health, happiness, friendship, adventure and possibility that SUP brings to our lives. From world endurance record holders to SUP Yoga, SUP with a Pup to SUP Surf, we will hear uplifting stories and fantastic information to help you on your paddleboarding journey. SUP has given our host, Jo Moseley, so much joy, confidence, courage and community since her first lesson in the Lake District in 2016 recovering from a knee injury. She became the first woman to paddle coast to coast across northern England, fundraising and picking up litter, has been in magazines, on the tv, radio and a guest on many podcasts. The film about her journey called Brave Enough - A Journey Home to Joy was launched to critical and audience acclaim in 2021. She has made two short award winning films about paddleboarding and written many articles. Having experienced such happiness and wellbeing, her goal in launching the podcast is to shine a light on the brilliant stories of others in the paddleboarding community and to share valuable ideas with her audience. It is both a thank you letter to everyone who has inspired, welcomed and encouraged her and a love letter to the wonderful sport. At the heart of the podcast is the idea 'We rise by lifting others' and that's what she is here to do - to welcome, encourage and celebrate you in the paddleboarding community. Whether you are dipping your paddle in the water for the first time, want to explore new places or disciplines, or have years of paddleboarding memories, you are in the right place and this is the podcast for you.
