Yael Schonbrun, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist, assistant professor at Brown University, co-host of Psychologists Off the Clock: A podcast about the science and practice of living well, and mother of three. Yael’s work draws on scientific research, her clinical experience, ancient wisdom, and her own personal experience with her three little boys.  Yael is the author of a book coming out in November called Work, Parent, Thrive. It has twelve science backed strategies to ditch guilt, manage overwhelm, and grow connection (when everything feels like too much). I am really excited about this conversation today! I know there are a lot of parents listening that have a lot on their plates and Yael helps us understand relationships between our roles, stress management, and gives us some happiness practices.  What we talked about: 5:20- The inspiration behind writing her book 10:10- Working through guilt as a parent 13:00- The importance of boredom in our lives 19:40- Yael’s biggest struggles when transitioning to a working parent 24:00- Therapy  28:50- Work family enrichment 32:50- Being present throughout your kid’s life 45:00- Balancing pursuing career goals and wanting to be with your kids 53:00- End of podcast questions Show notes: Work, Parent, Thrive All Joy and No Fun Overwhelmed Getting to 50/50 The Island of Missing Trees Dory Fantasmagory Connect with Lindsey:  Lindsey on Instagram Lindsey on Twitter Lindsey on Facebook  Join the I’ll Have Another Facebook Group Support the I’ll Have Another Podcast on Patreon Follow SandyBoy Productions: Sandyboy Productions on Twitter Sandyboy Productions on Instagram SandyBoy Productions Shows:  Why is Everyone Yelling?
