What in the Shibal Podcast - A podcast by Soogia & Ed Choi - Thursdays

Susie has had a dramatic week with a skunk incident that was courtesy of Ms Jilly in the backyard and inside the house. Ed's had a tough week with having the flu for the second time in his life. Ed was invited by Yong Yang's twin brother - Yin Yang to join the Yong Yang Justice League to not only bring justice to the case of Yong Yang who was killed by the LAPD while having a mental health crisis, but also to be the first Asian American group in history to fight for systemic change in how mental health crises calls are handled.  Susie just got back from Phoenix for her older daughter's volleyball tournament and had a pleasant surprise with the camaraderie and support between teams. But also had to deal with 117 degree weather contrasted with 50 degree weather indoors while also dealing with a thunderstorm downpour.  Susie is pumped for the Olympics. Ed doesn't really watch the Olympics but is excited to watch Sunny Choi the first American (who happens to be Asian American who quit her Director level job at Estee Lauder to pursue her dream of dancing) to make it onto the American Breaking Team. Susie has been dying to ask Ed about his date. Ed talks about SA on his first date but somehow gets a second and third date. Ed is not sure if his date has found him on social media. But Ed is trying to get used to online dating because he's used to conventional dating and the process of feelings are different.  Susie and Ed talk about their 4th of July plans. Black Jobs vs Hispanic Jobs trend comes up expeditiously on Tik Tok after the presidential debates. Girl on Tik Tok gets her car taken by her mom and sister while she is burying her dad at his burial. A writer follows up about her story where an Asian woman is living in Spain and her daughter's preschool brings her the wrong Asian kid in regards to her friends' reaction and calling her "hypersensitive".  Susie had an issue with a mom at her older daughter's school for a comment Susie's daughter had to moderate in her class text chain amongst her whole grade classmates.
