Khanh Ong - Forever an ALL-STAR, in EVERY way.
Renowned Chef, DJ, and personality, Khanh Ong, a proud gay man, spent the first few years of his life with his family in an immigration camp as a refugee. We celebrate him as a BIPOC individual in honour of refugee week and pride month. You may remember Khanh appearing on global juggernaut Masterchef 2018, placing third and becoming an instant crowd favourite. Since then he has become part owner in restaurant/bar "The George on Collins", made numerous television appearances and continued to carve out a unique and stylish space in the Australian food industry. Most recently he made top 10 in Masterchef All Stars and has already released his first book, “A Gay Guys Guide to Life, Love, Food” as well the heartwarming “You Are Loved” t-shirt range with part proceeds from each shirt going to LGBTQIA+ youth charity Minus18. We talk about all of this, being "outcast" as a gay Vietnamese refugee, significant family tragedy, coming back to Masterchef a second time and the life experiences that make the wonderful Khanh, Khanh!
