We start with a bit of background and what has to be the most incredible origin stories I've ever heard. - His experience having been born to deaf parents - Some incredible stories growing up as child sign language interpreter - Inspirations such as Nietzsche & Heidegger - Ayahuasca and psychedelics - When they're fiat and when they're actually useful. - The productisation of psychedelics as panaceas to ailments and all the world's problems. - Nature VS Nurture We then dug into Philosophy & Morality - Rousseau and Nietzsche - Humanity is a a multi-generational process. - A genius is a full answer to this process. - How do you define morality? - Living in accordance with evolution and life. - Morality is the increase of carrying capacity of life. - Aesthetics & Beauty, and their relationship to morality. - Humour as a very interesting measure for humanity The AI discussion: The stakes of AI: Game-theoretically, if an AI is more powerful than we are, we'd have two choices: 1. a Libertarian AI or, 2. an Authoritarian AI, - Which would win? - What happens when AI becomes widely modifiable and accessible? - Preferences and more importantly, which preferences? - If subjective ones, are they rooted in morality or utilitarianism? - The circular logic of using quantities to measure qualities - What it means for an AI to be human-centered Problem with The Standard Model: Machines, similar to humans, are intelligent to the extent that their actions can be expected to achieve their objectives. Instead: "Machines are beneficial to the extent that their actions can be expected to achieve our objectives” But more ethical and moral problems with this, and it's focus purely on utility as the outcome. How does AI emerge? Will we be programming it? Or will it emerge and mimic us. How does Bitcoin fix this? The question will be one of whether or not we've baked morality into our DNA. Homo Bitcoinicus. There so much more in this episode. You need to listen. The world is largely asleep. We're living in a time where our freedoms are slowly being encroached upon, but because we're addicted to mediocre bullshit, we ignore it. Our money no longer represents our work, time or effort, the freedom to speak out is obstructed under the guise of "diversity, inclusion and safety", privacy is no longer respected and surveillance has become mainstream "for our protection". Wake up is dedicated to helping ensure V for Vendetta and 1984 remain works of fiction. Topics will include Bitcoin, Money, Freedom, Philosophy, Psychology, Science, Ethics & more
