On episode 392, Jason (@theTVaholic) is joined by Ivey West (@Dorv) and Lynn Valiquette (@povprod) to talk cancellation and new shows announced for Upfronts 2018 and then preview the ATX Television Festival Season 7. Plus, some TV recommendations at the end. (Start times of each segment) News (00:01:35) We went over all the broadcast network shows that were canceled and the ones still in limbo going into the Upfront 2018 presentations by ABC, CBS, The CW, FOX and NBC. Since we recorded this ABC has canceled Roseanne and CBS has canceled Code Black. Other shows like Timeless remain in limbo. We also talked a bit about SYFY canceling The Expanse, but that has also now been picked up for a fourth season by Amazon. Upfronts 2018 (00:26:09) We talked about many of the new shows announced at Upfronts 2018. After reading all the descriptions and watching all the available trailers we each picked the five new shows we are most looking forward to in Fall 2018 and the three for Midseason 2019. We also each gave the new show we are least interested in. ATX Television Festival Season 7 (01:44:47) We went over the ATX Festival S.7 schedule and talked about the panels and screenings we are most interested in checking out. A couple of things we mentioned are no longer on the schedule like the Authors & Showrunners panel and a couple of things have been added like the Whiskey Cavalier screening followed by Q&A with Scott Foley. Castle Rock Zone is the Castle Rock podcast that Jason mentioned.
