We have a very special guest joining us all the way from Scotland. The creator of ‘The Cailleach’s Herbarium’ website - delving into the world of Scottish folklore, herbalism and folk practices. He is a folk magic practitioner, writer, advocate and agitator - passionate about Scottish culture, history and politics. Scott joins us to talk about all kinds of Scottish Folk Magic practices such as the various ways in which Saining can be performed, Animism and Ancestor Veneration, Folk Deity, Festivals and the important difference between cultural appropriation and appreciation. A four-times graduate and holds Masters degrees in psychology, social work and research. The co-creator and researcher behind the Tales of the Taibhsear project, part of the Taibhsear collective that brought to life Edinburgh’s ongoing annual folk culture, tradition and magic celebration and lecture series, and also network coordinator for The Woven Land Network.
