If you are a regular listener of the podcast, you will know how much I love books and that Fridays are Books That Move Me episodes.  Books That Move Me is an offering up of spiritual and mindful conversation around the books that have changed us, and shifted us. Here, I speak to people - writers, creators and more - about books, and how they have shaped their inner and outer worlds. So, each week on Books That Move Me my guest will suggest the THREE books that have moved them and why, as well as me sharing what I am reading with you my amazing listeners. Books That Move Me is exclusively brought to you and sponsored by VERO True Social, a social platform that values community, deep connections and for the real culture nerds out there who want to find like-minded people that love the things we love. Also, if you want to support independent bookstores check out my Bookshop.org affiliate link, which sees independent bookstores get money by purchasing from one site. This is where my booklist resides, and you can give me a little commission by buying from my list. This week, I am speaking to Martin Latham. Martin is the longest-serving Waterstones manager working in the Canterbury bookshop for around 30-years. Martin has written a book called The Bookseller’s Tale, in which he recounts some interesting tales from his last thirty years of working in the shop. The people he’s met, the books he’s read and more. He is fascinating. He says that for him this is not a career, but a philosophical path. He could have done anything - lecture, teach, publish - but he likes being on the ground and really wouldn’t have it any other way. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/timetotalkwithalexholmes/message See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
