Tatiana Maslany, TIFF Rising Stars alumna and critically acclaimed star of television's Orphan Black, joins Toronto International Film Festival Artistic Director Cameron Bailey for an onstage conversation about her diverse film career and rapid rise to stardom. Tatiana Maslany was born in Regina. Her starring role in Grown Up Movie Star (10) won her the World Cinema Special Jury Prize for Acting at the Sundance Film Festival. Selected as a TIFF Rising Star at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival, Maslany went on to earn best performance awards at the 2012 Whistler International Film Festival and the 2013 ACTRA Awards for her role as a troubled teenager in Picture Day (12). Her feature credits also include Violet & Daisy (11), The Vow (12), Blood Pressure (12), Cas and Dylan (14), and Woman in Gold (15). She has garnered numerous accolades for her role on the critically acclaimed Canadian sci-fi series Orphan Black (13–), including Critics' Choice Television Awards and Canadian Screen Awards for best lead actress in a drama series, as well as Golden Globe, Emmy, and SAG Award nominations. Maslany's upcoming feature work includes a starring role opposite Jake Gyllenhaal in Stronger (16), based on a memoir by a Boston Marathon bombing survivor; Oscar-nominated director Kim Nguyen's Two Lovers and a Bear (16) alongside Dane DeHaan; and The Other Half (16).
