Blazing Saddles Episode 33: Then we're awake, but we're very puzzled

The Wilder Ride - A podcast by The Wilder Ride

We open with Sheriff Bart, having heard a noise, moving to the door to jail cell. Gene Wilder's character is hanging upside down from the top bunk. Bart asks if he is awake? Gene looks quizzically from his upside down position and asks, "I don't know. Are we...black?" Bart replies, "Yes, we are." Gene responds, "Then we're awake, but we're very puzzled." Sheriff Bart enters the cell and helps the man up and then starts to sit him on the bottom bunk.  Today’s guest is broadcaster Jackie Hatcher. Jackie is a podcaster who, along with her friend, Lorie, produces a show called, Opinions in Black and White. As a black mom, she and her co-host, a white mom, discuss life and child rearing in today’s world, often focusing on the silliness of judging people by their skin, upbringing or nationality. Thank you so much for tuning into today’s episode. Come back tomorrow for another exciting episode of the movie, Blazing Saddles.
