The Trauma Therapist - A podcast by Guy Macpherson, PhD

I've been doing this podcast now for a few years and I continue to love it. I love it because I get to speak with incredible people who have dedicated their lives to helping those who've been impacted by trauma. One of the things that inspires me during these interviews is when I learn about that element or experience or journey that served to compel my guest to do this work. This usually has little to do with trauma interventions or techniques, and more about the period of time when my guests realize that the path of healing involves the recognition of humanity--within themselves as well as their client's. In this episode I share a bit about my own struggles during my time in graduate school, and feeling as though I needed to hide behind knowledge while all along refusing to trust myself and simply be myself and of how I was able to turn that around. --- Guy Macpherson, PhD, is a husband, a father of two, and holds a doctorate in clinical psychology. In 2014, while working at a clinic in Northern California, assessing and treating young individuals with early psychosis, Guy founded The Trauma Therapist Project with the goals of raising the awareness of trauma and creating an educational and supportive community for new trauma workers.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/the-trauma-therapist-podcast-with-guy-macpherson-phd-inspiring-interviews-with-thought-leaders-in-the-field-of-trauma/exclusive-content
