#24 The 'Snake Saver' - Afsar Hussain (Venomous Snake rewilding In India)

The ‘snake saver’ Afsar Hussain is one of India’s premier snake rescuers and wildlife conservation advocates. He runs an NGO in Raichur (central southern India) and his mission is to rescue, extract and re-wild wildlife including venomous snakes which encroach upon people‘s homes. India is a place where you find many of the most venomous snakes on the planet. When a lot of your favourite international snake handlers go to India, Afsar is the first guy they visit - one was bitten while handling a spectacled cobra last month and Afsar saved his life by driving him to the closest hospital. Afsar tells us about conservation and local folklore while showing us the snakes he keeps in his house and on his property - God help his neighbours!
