Safeguarding Autistic Girls w/ Carly Jones MBE

The Sod's Law Podcast - A podcast by GoldBean Studios

This week I’m talking to British Autism advocate, Carly Jones MBE. Carly has a hugely inspiring life trajectory, and in the last 14 years has been at the forefront of fighting for the safeguarding and inclusion of girls and women with autism. Carly herself was only diagnosed at the age of 32, and has two daughters who were diagnosed as young children. Subsequently Carly strives to demystify autism and help women and girls with the condition to flourish. Carly has been publicly appointed as a member of the UK Honours Committee, is an independent panel member for the Ministry of Justice, works for the Heathrow Accessibility Advisory Group, was made an MBE in the 2017/18 Queen’s New Years honours list for her services to people with autism AND was the first British autistic woman to address the United Nations on autistic women’s rights.  Carly's new book, Safeguarding Autistic Girls: Strategies for Professionals is available anywhere you get books: Safeguarding Autistic Girls - WH Smith Safeguarding Autistic Girls - Amazon.co.uk Safeguarding Autistic Girls - Book Depository Carly's Website How Can you Report Pain if you Struggle to Recognise it? -- This episode is sponsored by MANSCAPED.
