DJALI ZWAN: The Intersection & Emerson Theater Shows (12/13 & 14, 2001)

We continue our festive zelebration of Zwan Zeason with the listening of the DJALI ZWAN, the Zwan incarnation that was meant to be the "acoustic" version of the band. We discuss the difference between The True Poets of Zwan and Djali Zwan, then cover their two shows at The Intersection in Grand Rapids, MI on 12/13/2001 and two more at The Emerson Theater in Indianapolis, IN on 12/14/2001, which featured even MORE incredible music that didn’t make the Mary Star of the Sea album. In addition to sharing our personal highlights (including comparing the early and late shows from each night), we end up defining "Cormac-core" music, discussing the intersection of Iron Maiden and Robert Johnson, and tracing the "Happy Birthday" song's history in and out of the public domain (and Billy's history of singing it to fans at shows). All that plus the benefits of having an improv “Yes And” mindset when in a creative partnership, how Djali Zwan hints at Ogilala and Cotillions to come and – you guessed it – we talk more about The Beatles “Get Back” documentary. How great would a “Get Back”-style doc on the Pumpkins be? (Call us, Billy!) We've got a LOT to say about this subject, and even though the holidays are wrapping up, we're gonna be riding our black swan right into 2022 with much more Zwan Zeason, including our big Mary Star of the Sea episode which is on deck next! "That's the old shit!" HAVE A HOLLY DJALI XMAS, PUMPKINHEADS!  You can listen to the shows in the links below: The Intersection in Grand Rapids, MI 12/13/2001: Early Show / Late Show The Emerson Theatre Indianapolis, IN 12/14/2001: Early Show / Late Show And as always HUGE, HUGE thanks to SPCODEX.WIKI and SPFC.ORG How to support the 'kast: Buy our NEW SHIRTS HERE Our PATREON buymeacoffee.com/Pumpkast Please rate and review us!
