John Rattray Why so sad mission

Hi and welcome to the skate creative podcast, my names Joel Curtis and I’m a musician and skateboarder. This weeks guest on the podcast is John Rattray. John works in consumer strategies for Nike. Before this he was a professional skateboarder riding for blueprint and zero skateboards as well as having pro shoes for Savier and Osiris shoes. After the death by suicide of his sister Katrina in 2011 John started campaigning for mental heath awareness with his projects the good egg and more recently “why so sad ?”. Through these projects and his platforms as a pro skateboarder he has helped raise funds for Mental heath Scotland and the Ben Reamers foundation. In this conversation with John we talk frankly about mental heath and also about the subject of suicide just to flag that for anybody in advance who might be sensitive to these issues.
