Episode 52: Sam Giancana

On Episode 52 of the Sit Down, Jeff delves into the life of Chicago Outfit heavyweight Sam Giancana. Sam grew up in the poverty stricken Chicago neighborhood called "the Patch". He was an accomplished wheelman and enforcer in the Outfit. But in the early 30's meeting a woman changed him and he changed his ways and ultimately became a huge money maker and leader. In the history of organized crime, Sam was a much heralded individual. He was allegedly involved in some of the biggest historical events of the last 100 years and was one of the most powerful crime bosses in Chicago history. But in the end, he became too public and the real bosses behind the scenes grew tired of him.
