10. You Can't Please Everyone and That's Okay!

If you're anything like me, you grew up feeling like you were too much, too emotional, too sensitive - so you learned to counterbalance that with... *que Spongebob putting a rainbow over his head* people pleasing. It's not uncommon as an HSP and empath to simply go with the flow; don't make waves, don't make suggestions in case someone hates it, don't state an opposing opinion because you may make enemies, etc. etc. etc.  But at the core of people pleasing is really just us trying to control other people's perceptions of us. AKA: trying to control others. It's a harsh reality but one we must learn.  Don't get me wrong, people pleasing comes from a very good place in our hearts but it might be time to reevaluate this habit of ours.  In this episode, you'll learn: Why HSPs tend to be people pleasers How people pleasing is actually a selfish thing Why good intentions are better than always making everyone else happy Want to dive deeper on this topic?
