The 2022 Winter Olympics began over the weekend in China. From the initial media coverage to the opening ceremony, and to the individual experiences of athletes, virtually every aspect of the event is riddled with propaganda, censorship, threats, medical tyranny, and low ratings. These stale and cold conditions, coupled with hateful state-sponsored propaganda, should be concerning to the entire world, even to the countries staging diplomatic boycotts. This lifeless environment is the blueprint for the rest of the world and rather than glorifying it to appease the Chinese government we should be resisting it at every turn.
