Check out the movie that started the Buffy craze - Buffy The Vampire Slayer! The original vision of everyone's favorite cheerleader-turned-vampire-hunter from Joss Whedon, starring Kristy Swanson, Luke Perry, Donald Sutherland, Paul Reubens, and Rutger Hauer. This movie was originally more of a serious horror movie, but thanks to studio interference it became more of a comedy, much to the chagrin of Joss Whedon, who eventually ended up walking off set in protest. Vampires are on the loose in Los Angeles, and only the prophesized "Slayer" can stop them. Unfortunately, the latest slayer, Buffy, hasn't been trained by her mentor Merrick yet, despite being in high school. Now that the evil vampire master Lothos is in town, Buffy must rely on her natural skills and keen fashion sense to take on the demons of the night! (And look good while doing it.) This is a very different version of Buffy that we got from the beloved Buffy The Vampire Slayer TV show, but it still has its own charm to it. Whether you're a horror film fan, a comedy film fan, or just someone who likes vampires, this is a movie for you! And when the Salty Nerds devote their movie review podcast to a film Jude goes crazy over, you know it's going to be a good episode of this film review podcast! So strap in, get your blonde mustache on, and prepare to spend a long long time dying from a stake to the heart, because the Salty Nerds are going to take on 1992's Buffy The Vampire Slayer!
