S4 E37: Sweet Home Alabama
Sweet Home Alabama is directed by Andy Tennant. He has directed It Takes Two, Fools Gold, Hitch, The Bounty Hunter. This is the story of Melanie Carmichael played by Reese Witherspoon. We first meet Melanie as a 10-year old with her first ever love Jake Perry played by Josh Lucas. We meet them in the fictional town of Pidgeon Creek Alabama, after a quick meeting we jump forward in time to present day where Melanie is now a famous fashion designer, she is dating New York political socialite Andrew played by Patrick Dempsey. Andrew’s mother Kate is actually the mayor of New York and she is grooming Andrew to be a politician, played by Candice Bergen. After Andrew proposes to Melanie though, we learn that she has not gone back to her hometown in Alabama in 7 years, and now that she is engaged, she needs to make her way back to Pidgeon Creek to tie up some loose ends.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
