105: RICK ROSSOVICH Interview - TOP GUN: MAVERICK Celebration Part 2
The RETROZEST Podcast - A podcast by Curtis Lanclos
On Episode 105 of the RETROZEST podcast, Curtis continues a celebration of TOP GUN: MAVERICK, the sequel to 1986's TOP GUN. Assisting in this endeavor is a very special guest, the actor who portrayed LTJG Ron "Slider" Kerner in the first film, RICK ROSSOVICH! Rick began his career on TV shows like Eight is Enough and B.J. and the Bear. Besides Top Gun, he has appeared in such films as The Lords of Discipline, Streets of Fire, The Terminator, Roxanne and Navy Seals. Additionally, in the 1990s he returned heavily to television with recurring roles on both ER and Pacific Blue. All of this is discussed in depth on this episode; and Rick also shares stories about the making of Top Gun, as well as his opinion about Top Gun: Maverick, of course. Subsequently, Curtis also points out a (most likely) unintentional connection between Top Gun: Maverick and the recent hard rock supergroup Sweet & Lynch (featuring Michael Sweet of Stryper and George Lynch of Dokken/Lynch Mob)... sort of. Additionally, Mr. Retrovere shares this week's Retro News segment, which includes an editorial segment by Aaron Martel of the Ridiculous Rock Record Reviews (R4) podcast celebrating of the 40th anniversary of the seventh studio album by the American rock band STYX, The Grand Illusion!
