054: Top 7 Classic Rock Callbacks on SONIC BOOM & MONSTER by KISS!
The RETROZEST Podcast - A podcast by Curtis Lanclos
On Episode 054 of the RETROZEST podcast, Curtis discusses in detail how the final two albums by the American rock band KISS seem to contain a total of at least 7 callbacks to classic rock songs from the 1960s through the 1980s (by AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Mountain, Krokus, Sammy Hagar and Poison). This episode is similar to Episode 034 of the podcast, wherein it was discussed how a 1982 Duran Duran song possibly paid homage to a 1975 Pink Floyd song (and then in turn, a 2014 Pink Floyd song seemingly had a callback to that same 1982 Duran Duran song). The question is, "Was all of this coincidence, or was any of it intentional?" Additionally in the episode, Curtis makes reference to Episode 134 (Sammy Hagar - VOA) of the Ridiculous Rock Record Reviews podcast, and talks about Podcast Rock City in a Retro Podcast Recommendation segment.
