In 1977, Penelope Houston moved from Seattle to San Francisco to attend art school. Her art career was sidetracked when she became the singer of the acclaimed proto-punk band the Avengers. By 1978 The Avengers opened for the last Sex Pistols at the show ever. Since then, she has performed throughout the United States and Europe, both with the Avengers another bands. She has released albums with independent and major labels. Penelope lives in San Francisco, where she still performs music and paints.
