This week’s podcast episode is the first of the brand new year 2023! In this episode I am talking about vision boards, why they are great, what the point of them are and sharing our family ones with you. It is the start of a new year and the perfect time to start thinking about what you want from the year ahead. It is a time to look forward and dream of how you want your life and business to look. It is a great time to decide to make this year different and this all begins with setting goals and getting clear on your vision. This year as a family we decided to sit down with a large sheet of paper each, felt tips, glitter and glue and create our own vision boards. Now, for the children as they are young we decided to create a vision board for their life ahead - so looking at what their ambitions are, what they want to be, where they want to live and what they want to be like. For us adults we only looked at the year ahead and mapped out our goals and vision based on six areas - family/friends, home, relationships, personal growth, hobbies and career. This then gave a basic structure to begin looking at what we wanted to achieve in each area this year. Now, you can do a vision board based on 5 year or 10 years ahead but I felt for this year I wanted to focus on the year ahead. Why create a vision board? It gives you a clear direction of where you want to go. It allows you to visualise the goals you want to achieve and it provides a constant reminder of what your priorities are. The key is to put it in a place where you will see it every day and you can take a few minutes to visualise what is on there. It should inspire and motivate you to continue taking the required action to achieve your goals and it should help you maintain focus throughout the year.
