9 years, same issues

In this week’s podcast episode I am sharing with you the difference 9 years makes …or not! Do you ever feel like things haven’t changed? Well, I stumbled across some team meeting notes from October 2013 and the stuff we discussed then is still being discussed now! It got me thinking what stuff doesn’t change from one year to the next in your business? Who is responsible and why doesn’t it change? This episode attempts to answer these questions! Although it was was entertaining looking back on the notes from 9 years ago, it was quite interesting to look at why the same issues are still occurring. Now don’t get me wrong, many companies have recurring issues, and when you listen to this episode as a landscaper you will almost certainly have encountered these or relate to these problems. But how do we go about changing? There really is no-one to blame but ourselves! We are the business owners and leaders and we need to lead our teams into success. This starts with three things beginning with ‘C’: Communication Consistency Consequences There should be good comunication around expectations and results, consistency in that communication and consequences should expectations not be achieved. Simple really. Yet I have struggled to set aside the time to communicate on a consistent basis and I have held back on delivering the consequences sometimes through fear of staff backlash.
