In this episode we listen to classic electronic tape music from Germany in the 1950s. There was not only a political cold war between the USSR and US at that time, but a palpable cold war also existed between musical cultures of France and Germany. The German response was to create tape music using purely electronic tones, rather sounds captured by microphones as the French were doing.
