Jennifer Summerfeldt: Any birthing experience can result in physical and psychological trauma if it's not integrated with the sacred act of what it is.
Born Free Method: The Podcast - A podcast by Nathan Riley - Wednesdays

Jennifer Summerfeldt runs a therapy practice called Therapy for Moms in Canada, with a team of therapists specializing in perinatal mental health in particular, zeroing in on “birth trauma.” Jennifer is passionate about working with moms who've experienced traumatic, highly challenging, or disappointing births. When Jennifer was pregnant with her first child 23 years ago, she was an athlete in grad school for sports psychology. She had an excellent grasp on preparing for a big day, with a checklist, working her mind to get it ready for peak performance. Setting everything up based on the limited amount of info she had. Like many parents and partners, she knew nothing about the culture of birth, medicalized childbirth, or home birth.
