Hello and thank you for downloading another episode of The Flixters Podcast! In the final episode of 2021 we’ve got a bunch of movies to discuss with you. It’s been more than 20 years since The Matrix (1999) hit our screens. It was a glorious sci-fi extravaganza and still holds up extremely well today. Does the fourth part in the series live up to the hype? Listen to the show to find out. We also discuss the new installment in the Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City. They’ve taken this one back to the roots of the film, and set this in the 80s, but is that enough to save the middling franchise? And finally, we talk about the new Leonardo Di Caprio and Jennifer Lawrence drama/comedy Don’t Look Up, released on Netflix. It’s a satirical and at times farcical story about the end of the world. It has a great cast and two brilliant leads, but is it worth watching? You know what to do! And over on Anniversary Corner we look back at A Scanner Darkly (2006). And if that wasn’t enough for you we’ve even thrown in new trailers to watch and what you can catch on streaming. And don’t forget to listen to the show for a very special Flixters prize for one lucky subscriber :) Thank you for supporting us and we hope you enjoy the show! 00:00 Intro 02:19 Shoutouts 03:06 Flixters Prize 04:07 Movie News 09:32 New on Streaming 16:13 New Trailers 23:58 Anniversary Corner 26:51 The Matrix: Resurrections review 34:58 Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City review 37:53 Don’t Look Up review 47:39 Outro
