Hello and thank you for downloading another episode of The Flixters Podcast! On this week’s show we review Monsieur Hercule Poirot is back in Kenneth Branagh’s Death on the Nile, a follow up to Branag’s Murder on the Orient Express. If you love your whodunnits, then check out the show for deets! It’s Oscar season so that means only one thing…who’s wearing what? Okay, maybe not. Oscar contender The Power of the Dog starring the formidable Benedict Cumberbatch is a gorgeously shot piece of ‘western’ drama. In it, Cumberbatch plays hard boiled rancher ‘PhilBurbank’ who on the face of it, is mean, arrogant, and the very essence of male masculinity. When Phil’s brother ‘George’ (Jesse Plemmons) marries ‘Rose’ (Kirsten Dunst) and moves into the family house with her son, Phil is none too pleased leading to a strange relationship with her son ‘Peter’ (Kodi Smit-McPhee). Check out the show to find out more. Over on Anniversary Corner we look back at L.A. Confidential (1992). And if that wasn’t enough for you we’ve even thrown in new trailers to watch and what you can catch on streaming. And don’t forget to listen to the show for a very special Flixters prize for one lucky subscriber :) Thank you for supporting us and we hope you enjoy the show! 00:00 Intro 02:09 Shoutouts 03:25 Movie News 14:10 New on Streaming 20:24 New Trailers 28:28 Anniversary Corner 30:23 Death on the Nile review 35:33 The Power of the Dog review 42:59 Outro
