The Doctor and his companion Dodo arrive in 1966 London and immediately investigate a strange energy being emitted from an artificially intelligent super computer called WOTAN. When WOTAN begins to hypnotize people into building an army of war machines that will be used to rule over humans, the Doctor (with new companions Ben and Polly) must find a way to stop it.
