There’s devious entertainment afoot as Scott and Matt change up the ending for the Colin Baker 2-part serial “Vengeance on Varos”. The TARDIS has depleted it’s source of energy and so the Doctor and Peri are forced to land on the planet Varos to find more, but instead they find a society that is entertained by torture and executions.
