Why do we love jungle movies so much? And why is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in all of them? Okay, so he’s not in all of them and, as you’ll discover in this episode, our love for jungle movies may or may not be connected to our longing for adventure and significance as well as our infallible sense of self-preservation. Also, you’ll discover that when I say “jungle movies,” I mean movies where a majority of the action takes place in the jungle but I also include treasure hunting movies that may or may not take place in or near a jungle. They’re connected but they’re not but they are… Either way, my friend (and friend of the show) Tori Rask and I dive into which of these movies are our favorites and why we think they’re so compelling. I’m not going to lie. We ramble and travel far down rabbit trails but, thanks to Harry Potter, we manage to bring it full circle for you. Of course, because this is The Couch, where rabbit trails and side notes are always welcome, we also got into BTS, Bridgerton, and a few bits of entertainment news. If that sounds like your idea of a good time (and honestly, how could it not?), get comfy. It’s time to get started! MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE: Indiana Jones Dora Duck Tales Jungle Book Jumanji Jurassic Park National Treasure Goonies The DaVinci Code Swiss Family Robinson Moana Percy Jackson Finding Ohana The Lost City Romancing the Stone The Librarians Blood & Treasure Hooten & the Lady LOST NOT-SO-GUILTY PLEASURES: BTS Bridgerton, season 2 DON’T FORGET: Join The Couch on Facebook!
