# 218: Don’t Let The Market Fool You! People Are Moving Into Amazing Roles In 2023

[Visibility Series - Part 5] In today's episode, I talk about not letting the market fool you! Plenty of people are moving into amazing roles in 2023. And plenty of companies are hiring right now!You may be one of the many people who have been considering making a move for a while. You may be feeling reluctant because the market seems crazy; there’s a lot going on and there's been a lot of movement. Everywhere you look, all you hear about is inflation and recession. You may feel like this isn’t a good time for you to really prioritise your career goals and making the type of move that you ultimately want to make. I see a reluctance to take any action at all because people are equating exploring or preparing for a career move with actually doing it. Those are two very distinct phases. Preparing for a career move and contemplating a career move aren’t the same as handing in your notice and actually leaving a role. There's preparation that has to happen before action and in this podcast, we focus on that preparation piece, because whether you are looking to make a move in the near future, whether in the next three or six months, or whether that isn’t something that’s on the cards for you right now, you should still be looking at how you can prepare yourself for the future. Even if you don’t want to make a move right now, you should be thinking about whether you are prepared for the situation where you have to make a move. Doing your job and doing it well is one part of your career development strategy. There’s also the part where you’re actually thinking about how you're managing your career, your development, your advancement... and those things should be happening all of the time. There’s a quote that I really like, “be ready or stay ready, so that you don’t have to get ready”. And that just means being prepared so that if things happen you’re not caught on the back foot and you actually have put things in place. Visibility is such a key piece of the puzzle when it comes to you positioning yourself for the type of opportunity that you ultimately want. What you may learn:How to be proactive - Building on your skill set and your expertise in a way that will support you in your long term goals. How to articulate your value clearly - If you are struggling with landing interviews and landing offers there's something that’s not right with how you are articulating your experiences. How to make a move now - Leaning in and positioning yourself to be the candidate that lands the career advancing opportunity that you desire, despite what the market may be telling you.Other episodes you may enjoy:Episode 216: 3 Easy Ways To Build A Personal Brand That Will Grow Your Impact And IncomeEpisode 217: How To Become Top Pick For That Role That You Really Want  THIS EPISODE IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE CAREER CLARITY ACCELERATOR If you are looking for support with finding career clarity so you can relaunch your career with confidence, join this program >> https://www.careerchangemakers.com/cca Enjoying the show?
