003 Interview Steve Cole

In 2014 Steve Cole published his first Young Bond book titled Shoot To Kill. Following in the footsteps of both Ian Fleming and Charlie Higson is no easy task, but Steve managed to stay true to the world created by his predecessors and make it his own. I (Don) was lucky enough to interview Steve on his tenure and was surprised by his openness. We obviously discuss the books in general, keeping the conversation as spoiler-free as possible, but I also got to ask some questions that were personally nagging me. For instance: why doesn’t Bond understand any Spanish? And why wouldn’t his aunt Charmian believe his story? Steve, luckily, was very patient with me and took all my Dutch bluntness in his stride.
