Tyler and Don have re-read and analysed Ian Fleming’s first James Bond novel, Casino Royale (1953), in great detail. In a series of three podcasts they try to leave no stone unturned. Part 2 covers chapters 10 - 18 and we finally get to play some baccarat. Bond wins, Bond loses, then he loses some more until, finally, he wins again, leaving Le Chiffre a broken man. Along the way Bond gets some help from Felix, disarms a henchman holding a gun disguised as a cane and has a long dinner with Vesper, when all he wants to do is have ravenous sex with her... - So, how exactly do you play baccarat? - Is Felix Leiter the real hero of the story? - Why is it a bad idea for henchmen to show initiative? - And, most importantly, how do you get enough toast to go with your caviar?! Obviously, this podcast is filled with spoilers, so if you haven’t read Casino Royale yet, you have been warned! If you enjoy this podcast, please share it with others!
