Learn everything you need to know about getting the right people in your business by listening into each episode in the series, where Steve deep-dives into the system you can use to consistently get the right people in the right roles!   KEY TAKEAWAYS   If you are unsure which tasks you will want to be asking your new employee to do you can quickly and easily figure this out by making a note of each task you do each day and how long it takes you. Anything that you know well or is taking you a long time you should try and outsource. You then need to write a job description/profile that will want people to work for you. Think about the kind of person you want and what you can offer them to make yourself stand out. To save yourself time and to ensure you are starting with the right kind of people to begin with you can create a ‘recruitment application funnel’. One way to do this is by coming up with a list of eliminations questions that you ask each candidate to answer. This will give you a good shortlist. You can then whittle these candidates down further by asking them to do a task related to the job you are hiring for. After these two tasks, you should have a good amount of the right type of candidate who you can then ask to do a video interview, answering set questions you give to them. This is a good way to see the candidate in their own environment, you can then grade them as objectively as possible. You can then have your final list and ask people for a live interview where you can find out more about them and their aspirations. If you are still unsure after the live interviews, you can offer candidates a paid task, to see who is best at the job you are actually hiring for, to check they can do more than just follow instructions and if they will be a great fit for your company before all the investment of time and money for onboarding them into the company. Onboarding is just as important in small companies as big ones but often isn’t prioritised. If you can show you are professional and a great company to work for you will have more invested employees who produce great work for you. The work does not stop here. Ensure you have a structured way of keeping in touch, managing and coaching your new employee so you can make them feel valued as well as ensure they are developing and producing high-quality work for you.     BEST MOMENTS   “When you take someone new into your company you want to start that relationship on a really good note, you want them to think this is the type of company they want to work for”   “Make sure that person is skilling up to become an even more valuable member of the team”   VALUABLE RESOURCESFREE ACCESS TO The Recruit Right Framework SYS Recruitment Series Resources: Bit.ly/sys-10 Facebook Group: Systems and Outsourcing Systems and Outsourcing Website YouTube Dr. Steve Day   ABOUT THE HOST Steve used to be a slave to his business but when he moved to Sweden in 2015, he was forced to change the way he worked.
