Star Wars: Clone Wars (2003) by Genndy Tartakovsky, bridged the gap between Episode II and Episode III. It was prominently known as the only animated bridge between films at the time until we had the debut of Star Wars: The Clone Wars in 2008 which is known today as a 7 season show on Disney plus (almost 8 before cancellation in 2013). 2003's Clone Wars (also known as the micro-series) has been remembered fondly by many star wars fans around the globe and has also been greatly respected as a work of 2D art in the animation community. Today, we break down what that show provided for us as fans and how it bridged the gap at the time of release / telling stories of the clone wars before Revenge of the Sith was on screens. How does it compare to the cinematic style 3D animated show Star Wars: The Clone Wars which introduced the likes of Ahsoka and Rex into the canon in 2008 onwards.
