We discuss what has been spreading around the flight line faster than an infectious disease spreading on a crowded cruise ship, that’s right…we are talking about “job security.” No, not the mall cop kind, we are taking about the kind of job security we pilots worry about worse than this virus itself, we are talking about stagnation, furlough, line quality, canceled upgrades, and pilot hiring freezes. Most importantly, there is one piece of advice I can give in my 3 decades of employment, and nearly two decades at the airlines, DON’T PANIC! This industry is very cyclical and is affected by many complex factors.
