Sports Spectrum Podcast - A podcast by Sports Spectrum

Mike Donehey is a singer/songwriter and the former lead man with Tenth Avenue North. Starring on the soccer team at his high school in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Donehey and two of his teammates were driving to a game one day in September 1998 when his Honda swerved out of control, flipped several times and crashed into a tree. Donehey’s injuries were numerous: a fractured skull, fractured vertebrae, 96 stitches, five days in intensive care, and he was told he would never walk again. Two months later, Donehey proved the doctors wrong and was up and moving and walking. It was during that time in recovery that he picked up a guitar for the first time and discovered a love for music. That passion has taken him down a road he has remained on for the past 20 years. In 2019, Donehey released his first book, “Finding God’s Life For My Will,” and in early 2023, he released his second book, "Grace in the Gray." Today on the podcast, Donehey shares about humanizing professional athletes, disagreeing like Jesus and his love for Tony Romo broadcasting NFL games.  Receive our Sports Spectrum Devotional written by professional athletes for FREE when you sign up for our Sports Spectrum Weekly Email Newsletter.
