Food for thought: why potash is critical to feed the world

Potash is critical to agriculture worldwide and is used to boost crop yields and improve a plant's resistance to drought, weeds, disease, parasites and cold weather. With the global population expected to continue increasing and as land becomes scarcer, higher crop yields are essential to feeding people worldwide. To meet some of this demand, Trigg Mining is planning to develop a sulphate of potash (SOP) production hub from its Lake Throssell, Lake Yeo and Lake Rason projects in Western Australia. Meanwhile, South Harz Potash plans to meet Europe's muriate of potash (MOP) needs from its assets in Germany's historic South Harz potash field.
