Azure Minerals (ASX: AZS) managing director Tony Rovira joins Small Caps to discuss the company's recently acquired projects in the west Pilbara region of Western Australia. The company announced it was acquiring four projects last month as part of a new Western Australian strategy. The projects include Turner River which is adjacent and along strike of De Grey Mining's (ASX: DEG) Mallina project which hosts 2.2Moz gold and the renowned Hemi gold discovery. Another priority project is Andover, which covers 70sq km, and is prospective for nickel and copper. Azure is acquiring the projects from legendary prospector Mark Creasy, with his Creasy Group retaining minority interests in all four as well as being free carried to a decision to mine. The Creasy Group has been a shareholder in Azure since 2003. Tony confirms that Azure's projects in Mexico are still very much key assets including the wholly-owned Alacran silver-gold-copper and Oposura zinc-lead-silver projects.
