Akora Resources (ASX: AKO) managing director Paul Bibby joins Small Caps to discuss the company’s successful recent capital raising and plans for its Bekisopa iron ore project in Madagascar. Akora raised $2.3 million to add to its war chest, which came with strong support from well-known mining identity Stu Crow. The new cash injection will assist Akora in its plans to follow-up recent exploration success at Bekisopa. he company’s confidence in the commercial prospectivity at Bekisopa has been boosted by testing of at-surface weathered DSO iron. A DSO lump bulk sample returned an outstanding grade of 67.75% iron, with the results highlighting a significant cost advantage for the project. That was backed up by the return of a fines bulk sample grade of 64.65% iron.
