“Welcome to the Blumhouse”, Part 2

Slice of SciFi - A podcast by Summer Brooks and Team Slice of SciFi

Amazon Studios and Blumhouse Television teamed up to bring us “Welcome to the Blumhouse”, a program of eight thematically connected films, presented in double feature style.

Sharing the spine-tingling suspense that’s a Blumhouse signature, each film presents a distinctive vision and unique perspective on common themes centered around family and love as redemptive or destructive forces. This slate marks the first ever program of Amazon Original movies on Prime Video that are thematically connected. The films showcase exciting up-and-coming talent, alongside established actors in exceptional and shocking new roles.

The initial collection of four films as double features continue with "Evil Eye", from talented young directors Elan Dassani and Rajeev Dassani, and "Nocturne" written and directed by filmmaker Zu Quirke, in her feature film debut.

Listen in as Summer and Noah dive into their observations and appreciations about this latest double feature, and give their overall thoughts about the first four in this collaborative production.

The first two films in this slate, "Black Box" and "The Lie", were released to Amazon Prime on October 6th, and were discussed in last week's episode.

The next four films will launch on Amazon Prime in 2021.

How do the second slate of films in the Amazon-Blumhouse collaboration work for you? Let us know! Call 602-635-6976 and leave a message, send Summer an email, or in the comments below!
