In her early twenties, Laura Csortan was so determined to land her dream job on hit show The Great Outdoors that she packed up her life and drove 1400kms to couch surf in Sydney—after having the courage to ring top TV execs and say she had what it took. She was right. A couple of months after moving “with her eyes on the prize”, Laura was in Scotland on her first job for the travel show and kickstarting her long career in TV. Along the way, she’s “jumped out of planes, jumped out of boats in the middle of the ocean, ridden a motorbike across the Sahara”—great story!—and become a single mum to daughter Layla, 4, all while sticking true to her values.
