"Transformation" - Mike Ashcraft | Blessed Hope, Part 2

We have found ways not to be bothered by our need for a "blessed hope" through our false senses of security. They become our solution to our brokenness. Even though they, for a time, provide us comfort and a way forward to a degree, they will eventually become eroded, usually through tragedy or by our encounters with Jesus, when we become thirsty for something other than our way and might. On some level, we all understand that removing our false sense of security is best for us, but loosening our grip is terrifying. However, our personal transformation begins when we move beyond our desire to protect these false senses of security. Hope is a response to a need. Jesus' return is not an interruption to our lives and hopes for the future; instead, it brings the fulfillment of what our hearts long to experience. Embracing His grace causes us to long for His return. Jesus fulfills everything we want in ways we are only beginning to imagine. Our transformation plays out as we yield to redemption.
