We will always have an excuse for why we aren’t different. Whenever we struggle alone, we only increase the pressure of our temptation. The more we struggle alone, the more likely we believe that secrets are safe and acceptable. For deep, meaningful formative connections to flourish, trust is required. What we share allows us to be known and available to know another. Connection is to exchange life with one another as we trust enough to live safely within the care of our community. These relationships need to be fostered and nurtured - they require something of us and something from us. We need to be a safe place for everyone to share who they are (the good, the bad, and the ugly) as we learn to trust, walk, and step into our new identities in Christ and who God created us to be, both individually and corporately.
