Revealed | Part 1

Sometimes God feels aloof and hidden, like a mysterious wizard behind a curtain. We wonder in frustration why God makes it so challenging to get to know Him. If God would clearly lay out who He is and what He wants from us, we assume it would lead to our unquestioned obedience and a stronger relationship. But, deep down inside, this motivation to know God isn't to further a relationship but to fulfill our need for predictability and control. We reduce to understand, and in doing so, we remove the mystery, and with it, the need for faith. Jesus was wholly content with this dynamic, often speaking in parables and answering a question with another question. Revelation is the way of relationships, including one's walk with God.
