Grief & Hope- A Conversation with Cheryl Jacobs and Maddie Goslee

Port City Community Church Podcast - A podcast by Port City Community Church

As we look to explore Sabbath through this lens this summer, we recognize that our delight cannot be dependent on favorable circumstances. Last week we got to sit down with Cheryl Jacobs, who is a part of our church family. In our conversation, we got to hear Cheryl’s story- and her experience with loss, walking with others through grief, her experiences of growing up in Wilmington as an African American woman in the 1960s and 70s, and her thoughts on how our church can engage with racial reconciliation. As today’s episode is being released on Juneteenth, we felt like it would be valuable to share this conversation in its entirety. We believe that this episode will be insightful, encouraging, and helpful. In this conversation, Cheryl and Maddie discuss opportunities like serving with local community farms or “Encounter The City,” which is a guided tour of Wilmington that interacts with some of our local partners throughout our community. If you would like to learn more about the opportunities our church offers, you can go to www.portcity.church/mobilization, or you can reach out to us at [email protected]. We look forward to seeing you soon!
