Martin, Kyle & Jeff pontificate upon the most recent film featuring everyone’s favorite terrapin of Terror, Gamera The Brave (20006). Welcome to episode 70, where we talk about the most recent installment of the friend of all children’s cinematic excursions! Jeez, did that even make sense? Let’s try that again: Martin and Jeff join me to talk about the 2006 film, Gamera The Brave! Whaddayaknow – that was much less cryptic. Yes, it’s time to talk about one of the most recent giant monster movies that gets the cold shoulder from fans. But why is that? We try to crack that turtle egg a few times… maybe we figured it out… maybe not. We really enjoyed the film and had a lot to say about it and hopefully you will enjoy hearing it. Oh, and there’s a bit more to cover, too. Have I mentioned the Echo Bridge release of Godzilla vs. Biollante? I have? Good… because we cover that in a mini-review that will be followed up with a full blown written review this weekend! There’s also some news to cover and make sure you head over to that Kaiju Combat kickstarter and help fund that new videogame!!! MUSIC: 1. The film was released on DVD in 2007 by Media Blasters’ Tokyo Shock label, so that’s the version we’ll be watching here. It’s a really bizarre film that features not only Nazis, not only a humanoid monster, not only the first appearance of Baragon, but also American actor extraordinaire Nick Adams. Make sure that if you want to send in your thoughts, questions and reviews to us in order to be included in the Daikaiju Discussion, send your homework in by December 23rd to make sure you are part of the process!
